About ICAP

The International Committee of Artists for Peace (ICAP) is an organization of passionately committed individuals
using the creative power of the arts to bring about a peaceful society. With a special emphasis on instilling the
ideals of humanism and nonviolence in today’s youth, ICAP collaborates with individuals and organizations that
share its mission for peace. Since 2002, ICAP has sponsored concerts, exhibits and dialogues in support of the
United Nations Declaration and Program of Action on a Culture of Peace.

To establish peace and develop peacemakers through the transformative power of art.

We do this through:

  1. Performance. Members of ICAP, across a wide spectrum of genres, perform the fine art of reconnecting audiences
    with their humanity.
  2. Education (mentoring). ICAP artists share their talents and visions of peace with youth through school
    workshops, seminars and joint performances.
  3. Awards and Scholarships. ICAP recognizes and rewards individuals and organizations that contribute to
making the arts a vehicle for creating peace.
  4. Collaboration. ICAP joins with like-minded organizations to facilitate peace and performing-arts activities
and events toward the creation of a groundswell of civil society support for peace, culture and education.
  5. Exhibitions. ICAP-sponsored culture of peace exhibits are regularly presented at schools, organizational events
    and conventions.
