2010 VOV Aloha Peace Challenge

The VOV Aloha Peace Challenge is an annual humanitarian competition in the State of Hawaii that challenges all people to create value in their communities through activities that celebrate and promote peace and nonviolence.

The competition is open to Hawaii residents of all ages and outstanding young people are especially encouraged to participate.

Everyone who competes is a winner in this humanitarian competition to overcome violence. Each of us has a unique and equally important role to play. However, each year, we would like to highlight and celebrate one individual or group that is making an especially outstanding contribution to the promotion of peace and nonviolence in the community. The honoree will receive the VOV Human Dignity Award and will be recognized as part of an annual celebration in September.

To enter an individual or an organization into the 2010 VOV Aloha Peace Challenge and put them in the running for the VOV Human Dignity Award, please complete the online VOV Human Dignity Award Nomination Form. To conserve paper, the eco-friendly nomination form is electronically submitted through the VOV.com website.

I know how it feels to be marginalized and bullied. In our world, each person deserves to feel loved and appreciated, regardless of our differences. This is the foundation of everything I believe in.

victory over violence helped me realize that violence is all around me. VOV helped me see what i did not see when i did not know this. Also, i am more careful in the community and i don't spread passive violence. I try to cure it not spread it.
